Das Hungerspiel is now available on iOS. You can get it here for $1.

We have also released a free version of the game on Google Play which can be downloaded here. We have also patched the game so you can select how long a round should be. The update and free version will also be available on iOS in about a week.

Das Hungerspiel is a unique multiplayer game designed to be played by two players on the same tablet. Bait the hungry forest creatures to come within your catching range. Score as many catches you can before time runs out - simple!

We’re celebrating this by releasing our first game, Das Hungerspiel, on Google play this week. More on that later.

We participated in the Adventure Time jam and made a pretty cool physics game. You can check it out right here.

Oh and Pendleton Ward played it (that’s kinda cool)

The other event was a game jam at Kärlek, ettor och nollor. The theme was “All the fire goes out if you do not keep it alive” so we made a game about a couple of German kids feeding animals.

It’s a two player game for tablets. Where you need to place food to lure small furry animals to your side. When the times run out the player with the most animals win.

We ended up in second place which wouldn’t be possible without the sweet graphic of Liselotte and the rocking polka music by Mario.
We have a few bugs to hammer out and some minor stuff to add and then you will most likely be able to play it at a tablet near you.

There was also an infinite amount of sugar available at the jam.

In other news, Marcus will be holding a summer course in rapid prototyping at Blekinge Institute of Technology and we will try to participate in 7dfps.

It’s Friday and time for a new Flaskpost. Work is going along pretty good. As far as the Mailstorm work goes I made another intro sequence.

I preferred the intro I made last week. So going to mess around with that one some more and try to smooth it out a bit.

This weekend we will have some company bonding time by exploring the Swedish wastelands in the pen and paper role playing game: Mutant – Undergångens Arvtagare. I’m playing a half insane psychic mailman,  Mario is playing a former cop and an overall good guy and Liselott is playing a bounty hunter bird mutant. Also joining us is Sebastian, from Noumenon games, who is playing a robot that wants to murder everything. It should be a fun little adventure we’re going on

This week work has continued on the educational game and things are going smooth. But enough about that. I know what you want to hear.
Mailstorm!

I’ve managed to squeeze in some work on it today. Worked on an intro animation where the camera circles around the island and stops at the Coastalbyte logo. But why tell when I can show:

Other than that me and Marcus was talking about an idea for a roguelike-ich game for smartphones and tablets. A prototype of it will have to wait though. At least until Mailstorm is done.

The past week our full attention have been on the consulting job. We hit our first milestone with ease and started on the second one.

Spent this Friday poking around on our websites here and there. Changed some stuff and added other.
On the Mailstorm Express side on life, I did work with it last Friday. I built up the scene for the main menu. All that remain now (menu-wise) is just some scripting.

Since it’s Easter I also painted a face on my lunch.

We have started working on a new contract recently in which we are cooperating with a local company in order to develop an educational game for small children. The focus of the game is developing cognitive brain functions by organizing  objects into various categories.

We’ve brought in some expert competence for developing the game’s art style and graphics by hiring the services of our friend Liselotte Heimdahl who will be working with us through the project. We are really looking forward to see how the game looks like in the end but judging of what we’ve seen so far the end result is going to be fabulous!

So as you might have figured out, our game jam last weekend kinda died out. Some things came up and we couldn’t work on the Sunday. But we’ll make it up to you guys (cause we friggin’ love you all)  and finish the game another weekend.

Work on Mailstorm Express has slowed down a bit since we’ve taken another job to bring in some dough.
But I managed to sneak in some hours of work on it today. I started reworking the menu system since the last one we had wasn’t fit for a smartphone screen. It actually wasn’t much of a menu, just a bunch buttons placed after each other.
The new system has more of a touch interface where you slide around in a scene.

Next week most of our time will be spent on the consult job but I’ll try to sneak in some Mailstorm lovin’ next Friday as well.
